Experience Points...

Each player assigns his own xp according to the following guidelines, or sends in a sheet for potentially 1-6 xp. Sending in an XP Form does not guarantee a 4 or more point award.

Per Week:

1pt --minor play and interaction
2pts- playing 3 or more days, interacting and furthering your own storylines
3 pts-playing 3 or more days, interacting, major developments in your own goals and storylines, good roleplay

Players wanting more than three points may submit an xp form to the Storytellers, who will review your sheet and make a judgement on an appropriate award.
Management also reserves the right to audit xp if we deem players are being too 'generous.'

Updating Your Sheet:

Each time you spend xp, you may be asked to send an updated sheet to the bot. Updating your sheet... Simply title it sheet.txt and /dcc send it up to Amaranth, she will rename it as per your registered nick and stash it accordingly. If you mistakenly tittle it <yournick>.txt it will be sent to the unnapproved sheets directory.

Gaining Abilities and Traits:

Some traits cannot just be "bought" they must be learned in play. Examples are knowledges, and out of clan disciplines. If in doubt, ask a StoryTeller.

Gaining Backgrounds:

Backgrounds can be gained in play. You must inform a guide of the background you are trying to gain and what steps you are taking to gain it. StoryTellers will determine when and if the background is gained. In addition to RP, we will use a thing we call Virtual XP or VXP. A new Background will cost 15 VXP for the first pip, then the current rating times ten to increase thereafter.

Gaining Rituals:

Thaumaturgy and Necromancy rituals can be learned in play, by using "virtual xp". XP gains reflect the amount of time passed in the chronicle and the learning of new rituals. To learn a new ritual, you will need 15 x the level of the ritual in VXP. Creation of an original Ritual requires Storyteller guidance, the right skills/knowledges and resources, original rituals cost the same as others, however the process for the approval is much more involved.

What Exactly are Virtual Experience Points?

Well Virtual XP is just a means of ticking time, not your actual XP. The VXP pool is used to learn or create a new Rituals of Thauamturgy and Necromancy, or to gain in Backgrounds. So while you might shell out 15 VXP for your original first level ritual, this is is not taken from your actual experience point pool that you have saved up, but is compared to the amount of xp you've earned to date as a means of keeping track of time. Thus -Virtual- XP.
