7/22/02 - Less Esoteric

I should probably stop being all toreador metaphysical for a few pages, considering my memory is such crap (unlike some people) I'm lucky if I remember who's who on a day to day basis.

Trying to get Bukowski accepted as an embrace. The main roadblock there is Elena Hawkley, Arkady would give me permission, but he also doesn't understand the process of Ventrue embrace and agoge. Bukowski embraced, does not equal Bukowski accepted into the clan's rank and file. First hurdle, is Elena. She seemed almost reticent to the idea, but then again, Elena is not always what she seems, and I'm still not sure if she intends for me to embrace Bukowski, or if she'll embrace him, or if she'll just convince Arkady to have him killed before he becomes a huge mess and embarassment to everyone. Not that Arkady will be easy to convince there, but I do know Elena can be persuasive. My thoughts return to Reilly a lot these days, how Elena and him bucked horns, how Elena just resigned as primogen and expected that Reilly would take her place, some kind of an object lesson, the issues with Riz and how tangled up it became...I really hope I'm not just repeating those old mistakes, but then again, I am hardheaded. Wash. rinse. repeat.

Got smacked by a setite, never realized a tongue could hurt -that- bad. I think its actually going to leave a scar, looks like i got hit with a bullwhip and felt about the same too. Bastard. Same guy that killed Maeve and Andre...least we assume that, he didn't get much of a chance to deny or confirm such suspicions because Arkady was on him in a heartbeat, and that was one dead snake. It might have been flattering to think the man would leap tall buildings to save me, but we all know Arkady would do that anyway for anyone.

[ timestamp 11:18 ] continuing..where was I? Oh right, with arkady leaping from buildings....I really wish he wouldn't be so reckless. Though i guess that's like asking a leopard to change his spots. And really, who wants a naked spotless leopard anyway. I know I wouldn't, but then again, everyone knows how I like my men. Too bad they have such a short life expectancy, though maybe with Arkady, he's tough enough physically. Unfortunately, he is his own worst enemy, self destructive tendencies which maybe on some level he even realizes. Those aren't really spots though, more like scars. Who needs them.
