A Princess of a Seneschal

Fanatic.

A haughty Toreador by the name of Sonya Black used this term to de scribe Eva Jentre. She is fanatical about the Camarilla. She ought to be - she stands as the Seneschal of the Domain, second only to the Prince in influence therein. She commands respect among the clan of the Rose, the Toreador, for she is their Primogen, small as the clan seems to currently be. She has gained the respect of the Prince and of other key players in St Louis over recent times, including its Prince, its former Prince, and the now-departed Primogen of clan Brujah.

The Toreador is the clan of the talented. Many of its members are Embraced due to their various artistic abilities and skills. Many are drawn from painters and sculptors, writers, and what not. A good portion of these also seems dually blessed with the merit of physical beauty. The Toreador seem to desire to immortalize beauty, making it their stock in trade, much as the Nosferatu value information, the Tremere their magic, and the Malkavians their lunacy.

Eva Jentre is an anomaly. She possesses beauty, but she does not have the overwhelming or utterly gorgeous beauty of celebrity. When questioned about the stereotype of all Toreador possessing some sort of artistic knack, Eva does not claim to possess any great degree of accepted artistic ability. Her answer is not so simple. She states, instead, that her talent lies in the organizational arena. To a recent initiate into the ways of the St Louis Kindred, this may be a trifle confusing at first. Arkady Filitov, Gangrel and Former Prince of St Louis, said that while Eva excelled in the political field, she was less than impressive under stressful situations, such as combat.

Eva throws parties.

This is not to be a downplayed or taken-for-granted ability. Her gatherings are prime meeting places for the movers and shakers of Camarilla politics in St Louis. On a given night when one of her soirees is held, one can easily find most, if not all, of the prominent Kindred as well as most of the rest of the Kindred occupants of the city. In order to show how powerful she has used this ability of hers, take note that with a bit of political acumen, Ms Jentre has moved into the aforementioned positions of both Primogen and Seneschal of the Camarilla. These are positions coveted by many yet held by only the few.

Life is not all roses for the city's duchess of the "Roses." In the past several months, there have been several situations of conflict. Madison Kurokawa, Lasombra antitribu of the Camarilla and wannabe- Harpy actually came to blows with her over differences of opinion. Madison seemed rather pleased with herself for having come away surviving that encounter. Given that Madison carried around a ninja-to blade and supposedly worked for a clan of ancient Japanese assassins, the testimony of her defeat at Jentre's hands speaks volumes as far as her physical ability goes.

As of late, Eva has had some difficulties with members of the Nosferatu, Malkavian, and Tremere clans. Neilson of the Nosferatu has gone out of his way to upset the Seneschal, and she has done her part in handling him, which has resulted with minimal success. She now says that she has no more time for his antics and seems to be doing her best to wash her hands of him. Given her reputation for harsh social retort, however, it could be only a matter of time before Neilson received something of a setback as well. For the time being, he has earned her ire by causing her to frenzy in Elysium, causing her to be held back by Arkady. She's also been partly responsible for his being ousted from the place, which is beyond her authority.

Eva also gained a bit of notoriety for ousting one Daisha, a member of clan Tremere from the place. Apparently, she'd had enough of him and his lack of respect for the proper and polite way of doing things in regards to Camarilla protocol, which Ms Jentre attributed to his belief that he knew more than everyone else in the room, including his betters in regards to status. Daisha followed up with a sort of grievance to Marlo Chase.

Additionally, though much less of a threat, would be the Malkavian Primogen, Matthew Kroh. Kroh has all but dug his own grave with some of the prominent figures of the city. He's basically harmless, though he has been a nuisance to her and professed an open dislike and willingness to butt heads with her in the past.

Despite her admission that Harpies had previously hampered her in her rise to power as Primogen of the Toreador Clan, Eva concedes that her own stupidity and self-righteousness were at the root of some of her problems. She refused to deny the stupidity of a large portion of the rest of St Louis - one could only assume that she would mean Kindred as well as "kine." She also attributed the term "harsh" to herself as one of her traits, in regards to Marlo Chase's mention of Jentre not being one to anger. She later took the statement as flattery.

Eva mentioned that her detractors, the Harpies early on, and the difficult Kindred since, have been the biggest adversity in her recent existence beyond herself. There have been so many that said she couldn't, and she has put it in her mind to prove them wrong. She admired Kay Croft for being able to do just that and never give up. The loss of Ms Croft has been a tough blow to Eva, as it is widely known that the two of them were extremely close. The possession of a rose, which had been linked with Ms Croft is what set Eva into a frenzy and almost lead to an attack in Elysium upon Neilson. It goes without saying that she will have a taste for vengeance, but will continued problems with some of St Louis' Kindred project any of this wrath upon the Kindred? It's a shallow argument, but with several clans throwing their support behind it, with her recent erratic behavior, Ms Jentre should watch her movements and actions very carefully.

Despite the conviction and loyalty of the Toreador, as Sonya Black and Zoe Grey have openly shown a great deal of loyalty behind their Primogen, she stands on the edge of a precipice. Her position, her sanity, and her very existence are potentially in question. Her allies become all the more important, and her decisions are being watched through a microscope. If she falls, she falls hard, but if she keeps walking, she'll be up high for everyone to see.
