Map of the Downtown Area

Areas on the map identified with a letter are larger than they appear and represent the general area of a particular channel.

Important Points

--There is no actual parking on the Riverfront. You can park downtown or in the lots near Laclede's Landing, but you have to actually enter the park on foot.

--The levee is also the steps of the arch, you can walk down the steps and across the a small road to get to the riverbank.

-- The L.K. Sullivan road is between the Riverfront park area and the river. (There is no parking on this road either). Sometimes, during flood stages, this road is entirely underwater. D represents the "railing" that overlooks the river. However, the L. K. Sullivan road, lies between it and any actual water.

- Forest park is not on the map. It is a good distance from the downtown area. The metrolink will take you to forest park, or it is about a 15 minute drive.

--Only 3 bridges connect the east to the west side. Left to right, ML King Bridge, Eads Bridge, and Poplar Street Bridge. The Eads bridge strictly services the metrolink, the others are car traffic only and cannot be walked across. The river is about a half mile wide itself and includes a large swamp (we call them wetlands in the Midwest ) on the East side. It is actually over a mile of water and unoccupied space.

--There is a small service road on side of starbucks (running north to south - opposite Memorial drive) that is not represented on the map. Service road used for delivery trucks, and does not have an opening to any of the main streets other than Marketstreet.
